Founder & CEO
Dr. Jonathan Scharf is the founder and CEO of Scharf Energy Consulting LLC and a recognized expert in renewable energy, energy storage systems, and engineering consulting. Over the course of his career, he has delivered more than $650 million in savings through optimized energy supply chains and strategic market initiatives. His focus on business development, project management, and executive leadership in sustainable technologies has helped numerous clients navigate the complexities of renewable energy transitions with data-driven, scalable solutions.
Jonathan earned his PhD in NanoEngineering from the University of California, San Diego (2021), where his groundbreaking research on advanced battery technologies and energy systems led to several industry advancements. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers—published in journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Advanced Energy Materials, and Joule—that continue to shape the future of energy storage and renewable technologies.
Before launching Scharf Energy Consulting, Jonathan experience spans industry leaders like Tesla and Accenture. At Tesla, he guided teams to improve battery production and accelerate large-scale manufacturing processes, while at Accenture he co-managed greenfield energy ventures, achieving major operational efficiencies. As Chair of Strategic Partnerships at CleanTX, Jonathan fostered alliances with EPCs, OEMs, and energy operators to implement high-value renewable and battery solutions for multi-million-dollar projects. Along the way, he also led cross-functional teams in advancing Li-ion manufacturing, solar R&D, and regulatory compliance—publishing best practices that drive sustainability and innovation industry-wide.

As a Principal Director and Research Fellow at Accenture, he led pivotal data and AI initiatives that shaped enterprise-level innovation, serving as Director for AI in Manufacturing & Engineering to build cutting-edge solutions for global operations. He also co-founded Plinnovate, a platform for innovation training and strategy, and has held advisory and leadership roles with Oakland University and NAFEMS. Prior to this, Dr. Tabaddor was the Global Head of Predictive Modeling & Analytics at UL, where he launched a $50M digital transformation initiative focused on data-driven compliance.
Dr. Tabaddor’s notable achievements include leading the UL global team investigating the Boeing 787 battery fire incidents—presenting findings at NASA and FAA workshops—and developing an industry-first Machine Learning Algorithm Reproducibility service that advanced AI regulatory frameworks. He has delivered multi-million-dollar AI/ML solutions, earned patents and innovation awards, and published influential work on CFD modeling, refrigerant risk, and AI-driven simulation.
